- I have been teaching in the School of Communication and Arts at the University of Queensland since 2014. Prior to that, I had a continuing appointment in the School of Arts at the University of Waikato. Before that, I completed my PhD at the University of Kent and my MFA at Temple University. And before that, I was a United States Peace Corps volunteer in beautiful Cabo Verde. I am an elected fellow and board member of the Society for Cognitive Studies of the Moving Image and editor of the Society's journal, Projections: The Journal for Movies and Mind. My current teaching and research interests are in the aesthetics of television, irony and satire, the ethics of artistic creation, and the intersection of 4e cognition, media, and the arts. I welcome inquiries from prospective PhD students in any of these areas.
